Frequently Asked Questions
Services

We do see teens!
We donโt see younger kids because our current office is set up to be an intricate sensory haven primarily for adults needing a gentler sensory experience. Our therapy rooms and waiting area are lovely but not child-proofed and potentially physically dangerous for our livelier curious loved ones.
-
We do! If you'd like to chat about how your situation might fit our expertise, we'd love to connect with you.
-
We are overtly non-religious in the services we provide. In this Greater Nashville Area/cultural buckle of the โBible Beltโ weโre aware that so many therapists offer Christian-based counseling, and we want to help fill the gap to create a space that feels safe for folks who want to know they wonโt be pushed in any doctrinal direction.
That said, we absolutely love to help you connect with your own spirituality, and process your spiritual experiences. Many of our staff were raised in spiritual traditions, have processed their own religious trauma, and are so great at holding space for deconstruction, disillusionment, purity culture hangovers, etc.
Weโre not against spirituality, weโre just truly open and donโt secretly assume we know whatโs best for you. We follow your lead and consent on any religious/spiritual concerns you bring up and stay in our lane, which is whole-person therapy.

Absolutely! If you have a health savings account or flex account, we can run HSA/FSA cards just as we would a regular credit card.
Insurance
-
We donโt process insurance. It may be worth checking in with your insurance company, just in case - some plans may reimburse for out of network sessions or let your sessions count toward your deductible.
We can give you a receipt with the medical codes theyโll need if you have confirmed that they will reimburse you.
(If you have an HSA or FSA, we can run those cards like a regular credit card and provide any receipts the HSA/FSA might request.)

Youโll want to check in with your insurance company to see what you need in order to get counseling covered or reimbursed, whether in-network or out-of-network. Here are some questions to ask about your plan's coverage:
๐ฅธ Do they reimburse for counseling? For out of network counseling?
๐ฅธ Do they reimburse for the type of counseling youโre doing? (some plans may reimburse for individual therapy but not for groups or for couple/family therapy)
๐ฅธ Do they require a diagnosis in order to cover your sessions?
๐ฅธ How many sessions will they reimburse you for? Do they limit the amount of sessions theyโll cover based on your diagnosis?
๐ฅธ Do they require special permission for sessions over a certain length (for instance, 60-75 minutes vs. 45 minutes)
๐ฅธ How much do they reimburse per session? Is it a flat amount, or a percentage of what you paid?
๐ฅธ Will they allow unreimbursed sessions to count toward your deductible?
๐ฅธ Do they require out of network therapists to submit a W-9 form in order for you to reimbursed? (Unfortunately, we donโt feel comfortable submitting these forms which have become a popular request of some insurance companies in recent years; submitting the W-9 independent contractor form implies to us that we have a financial or contractor relationship with the insurance company which causes us concern about confidentiality.)๐ฅธ ๐ฅธ ๐ฅธ
Itโs important to find out these details before starting therapy so that both you and we have an idea of the expectations.
Sometimes insurance plans cover enough sessions to give you coping skills to change outward behaviors, but not enough sessions to dig into the deep, healing heart-work we believe can sometimes better help sustain those changes and feel more like yourself.
There are absolutely exceptions to that, though, so again: itโs always worth checking in with them.
To get started, just:
see who youโre drawn to
& click their calendar
pick your appointment time
(1st session or free consult call)
weโll take it from there
so you can get heard
